About the Diversity Advisory Committee

The UCR Psychiatry Diversity Advisory Committee is deeply committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its forms.  We see ourselves as part of a broader collective of academic diversity-serving programs at the University of California, Riverside, and UCR School of Medicine (i.e., Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Student Disability Resource Center, LGBT Resource Center, Multicultural Student Group Programs, Veterans Resource Center, etc.).  We aim to foster and maintain an environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the communities we serve.  By building a diverse resident community, we aspire to create a mental health workforce that reflects, advocates for, and responds to the needs of those we serve, respecting individual differences such as culture, sexual orientation, gender, religion, ability/disability, race, and ethnicity.
