Meet our Program Leadership
Peter Ureste, MD, MACM
Program Director
Peter Ureste, MD, MACM, is the program director of the UC Riverside Psychiatry Residency Training Program. A proud native of Riverside and Inland Southern California, Ureste is a first-generation college graduate who began his academic journey at a community college before transferring to Portland State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Community Health. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, completed his residency in general adult psychiatry at the University of Southern California, and pursued fellowship training in geriatric psychiatry at UC San Francisco, where he remained on faculty. In 2024, Ureste returned to his hometown to join the faculty at UC Riverside and now leads the psychiatry residency program. He is deeply committed to mentoring residents and medical students and supporting each trainee’s unique professional development. His academic interests include professional identity formation, trauma-informed medical education, public psychiatry, and advancing the careers of trainees from historically excluded backgrounds. Outside of work, Ureste enjoys spending time outdoors with his husband and their dog.
Rich Lee, MD
Associate Program Director
Richard J. Lee, MD, is an associate program director and an associate clinical professor of psychiatry in UC Riverside’s School of Medicine. He also serves as program director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship for the UCR Department of Psychiatry and Neuroscience. Clinically, Lee is the associate medical director for Countywide Children’s Programs for the Riverside University Health System-Behavioral Health. He also serves as a staff child and adolescent psychiatrist in the Children’s Treatment Services Clinic in Riverside and is a member of the Department of Behavioral Health’s Asian American Task Force. His professional interests include developmental psychopathology, autism, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and cross-cultural psychiatry.
Erin Fletcher, MD, MPH
Associate Program Director
Erin Fletcher, MD, MPH, is the associate program director for the UC Riverside Adult Psychiatry Residency Program, where she focuses on resident education and program administration. She supports the program director in organizing and supervising the training program and serves as the associate site director of medical education at the Long Beach VA. Dr. Fletcher graduated from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and holds a master’s degree in public health administration and business from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She completed her psychiatry residency at UC Riverside, providing patient care in various settings. Additionally, she has co-chaired the UC Riverside Diversity Advisory Committee and served as chief resident. Her interests include women’s mental health, integrative psychiatry, and mentorship.
Julia Seiberling, MD
Chief Resident of PGY1s
Julia Seiberling, MD, is a third-year psychiatry resident and junior chief resident at the UC Riverside Psychiatry Residency Training Program. She was born and raised in Riverside before pursuing her undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley. While there she majored in molecular and cell biology with an emphasis in neurobiology and minored in music. She was honored with the opportunity to return to her hometown to earn her medical degree at UC Riverside. She now is continuing her training in psychiatry residency here at UC Riverside and is thrilled to be living her lifelong dream of bringing compassionate care to the community that raised her. Clinically and academically, she is interested in working with patients experiencing substance use and eating disorders. She additionally is passionate about encouraging the next generation of physicians through mentorship and finds fulfillment in advocacy work particularly through public policy and organized medicine. When possible, she relishes the opportunity to spend time in nature or travel. But more often, she can usually be found after hours with a good book in hand or spending time with her partner and their beloved (and mildly spoiled) pet dog and cat.
Anita Miranda, MD
Chief Resident of PGY2s
Anita Miranda, MD, is a third-year psychiatry resident and junior chief resident in the UC Riverside Psychiatry Residency. Originally from Peru, she immigrated to the United States at age six and grew up in Southern California. She earned her Bachelor of Science in neuroscience and doctor of medicine degree from UC Riverside and completed a post-baccalaureate program at UC Riverside before medical school. Prior to medical school, she worked as an assistant to a middle school principal, where she developed a deep appreciation for mentorship, education, and service. As junior chief resident, Anita is committed to supporting resident wellness, fostering a collaborative training environment, and helping trainees navigate their professional development. Her academic interests include medical education, community psychiatry, and expanding access to mental health care for diverse and underserved communities. Outside of psychiatry, Anita enjoys salsa dancing, practicing yoga, and exploring new destinations with her husband.
Gareth Disler, MD
Chief Resident of PGY3s
Gareth Disler, MD, is a fourth-year psychiatry resident and serves as chief resident for PGY-3s for the 2026–2027 academic year. He earned his medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and is happy to be back in California for the final chapter of his training. Gareth was recently recognized for his compassionate patient care, dedication to teaching, and commitment to humanistic medicine through his induction into the Golden Humanism Honor Society during residency. Outside of residency, Gareth enjoys spending time with family and friends and exploring new restaurants and cuisines.
Priscilla Verales, MA, C-TAGME
Program Coordinator
Through various GME roles and settings, Priscilla Verales has extensive experience in residency and fellowship program administration, institutional oversight, and accreditation compliance. She has a strong foundation in ACGME standards, program operations, and academic medicine infrastructure, supporting high‑quality training environments for residents, as well as coordinator wellness and professional development.
A native of Los Angeles (Watts area), her parents moved the family to the city of Riverside. Priscilla said, “The growth of Riverside and the Inland Empire as a whole has been amazing to see, although I will always miss seeing dairy farms and orange groves within the city.” Priscilla lives in Jurupa Valley with her husband, and they are proud parents of four children and have two dogs. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, hosting gatherings, traveling, exploring new coffee shops in the area, and tending to her garden. Priscilla holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Leadership, and she has been TAGME‑certified since 2018. Her next educational goal is to become an IFC‑accredited coach and, perhaps afterward, pursue a PhD.
Roberta Cole
Program Coordinator
Roberta Cole, BA, is the program coordinator for both the UC Riverside Psychiatry Residency Program and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. The youngest of seven siblings and the first in her family to attend college, Roberta holds an AS in business administration and recently celebrated the completion of her BA in leadership studies from Cal Poly Humboldt. She is passionate about advancing her education and plans to pursue a master of public health, with the goal of one day leading a team dedicated to improving community health and access to care. In her role as coordinator, Roberta brings strong organizational skills, empathy, and a deep commitment to supporting residents, fellows, and faculty alike. Outside of work, she enjoys camping with her family, traveling, and getting lost in a good book whenever she has the chance.
